Chad Dechow is an Associate Professor of Dairy Genetics in the Department of Dairy and Animal Science at Penn State University. He joined the faculty of Penn State in 2003 where he has an active teaching and research program. The goal of his research program has been to develop genetic selection and mating strategies to improve cow health, survival and feed efficiency. His primary courses include The Principles of Animal Breeding, Dairy Cattle Selection and Evaluation, and Dairy Problem Solving. Chad is the coach for the Pennsylvania 4-H dairy judging team and a co-coach for Penn State’s Dairy Challenge team.
